Municipal Court Warrant Officer
City of Liberal

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to provide assistance to the Municipal Court Judge by processing, serving, and tracking warrants as ordered by the court. Work includes securing, informing defendants of procedures to be followed and escorting prisoners as the Judge or case disposition indicates. Job duties follow established routines, but unusual cases require the application of judgment and discretion. The Municipal Court Warrant Officer reports directly to, and supervision is received from the Municipal Court Judge and Court Supervisor.
TYPE Full Time
SALARY $30,000 to $33,000 depending on certification and experience.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in the Criminal Justice System is a plus. Must Possess High School Diploma or equivalent and be 21 years of age. Must pass pre-employment background investigation, drug testing, polygraph, and possess a valid Kansas Driver's License. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the requirements may be substituted.
