The job duties of the Corrections Sergeant include but are not limited to assist with the overall supervision of the County Jail; to ensure that the living conditions of the inmates are maintained in a humane manner; to ensure that the inmates are granted their constitutional rights; to coordinate and oversee the training of all the correction officers and evaluate their work; ; to enforce all federal, state, and local law resolutions; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.

SALARY: $16.74/ Hr.
High school diploma or GED.
Technical degree or Associate’s degree in criminal justice preferred.
Minimum one (1) year experience of law enforcement or jail experience.
Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience preferred.
A valid Kansas driver’s license.
Must reside within a 30-mile radius of worksite of employment.
Training and certifications to be completed within one (1) year of employment and maintained throughout employment: Certification through the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center, Correctional Supervisors Course, Tazer certification, CPR certification, and first aid treatment certification.
