Deputy Sheriff, Seward County Sheriff's Office

The Seward County Sheriff's Office is looking for a motivated individual to fill a full time Deputy Sheriff position.  Seward County is located in southwest Kansas and is mostly a rural community with the exception of the city of Liberal with a population of approximately 20,350 and the city of Kismet with a population of about 450.

 

The Seward County Sheriff's Office has 10 Deputy Sheriff's who are overseen by the Sheriff, Undersheriff, Captain, and Sergeant.  This employee will be tasked with providing citizen assistance, enforcing all federal, state and local laws while performing daily patrol duties.  Some of these duties are making arrests, enforcing traffic laws, transporting prisoners, serving civil process court documents, investigating crimes, and investigating traffic accidents.

 

Shifts

-8 AM to 5 PM

-5 PM to 2 AM

-11 PM to 8 AM

TYPE:  Full Time

SALARY: 

Beginning Salary (NEGOTIABLE DEPENDING ON YEARS OF EXPERIENCE)

   -$16.84

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

-No criminal history

-No Brady/Giglio issues

-Must be a U.S. citizen

-Must be at least 21 years of age

-Possess at least a high school diploma or GED -Possess a valid driver's license -Must be a resident of Seward County within 90 days of hire
