The Hodgeman County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a position for a Full-Time Deputy. We are a small agency in southwest Kansas. Applicant must be able to work night shifts, weekends, holidays, and a rapidly changing schedule. Deputies will enforce all local, state, and federal laws. Deputies patrol the county, cities, and lakes that are located within the county.

Qualified candidates must be 21 years of age or older. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license. Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Candidate must have no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions, or any domestic violence related convictions. KLETC certification is not required. We would be happy to train the right person for the job. Candidate must be able to pass an extensive background investigation. Candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment psychological exam and drug screen test. Candidate must be able to live within a 25 minute response time to Hodgeman County. With it being difficult to find housing we have just got the residency requirements changed. But find housing within the county if the right residence would open up for the size of family the candidate brings. If housing is available for the size of family the candidate would bring they shall move within the county.

Benefits include single and family insurance, KPERS retirement, paid holiday, vacation, and sick time. Candidate is issued all uniforms, duty gear, and a take home patrol vehicle.

Salary is based on experience and years of service. Pay will be decided during interview or initial job offer.
