The Colby Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer I or II.  This is a full time position with benefits including an optional health, dental and life insurance package; sick leave, vacation, gym membership, KPERS retirement benefits, overtime provisions, uniforms and equipment.

TYPE: Full Time

SALARY: Non-certified starting salary is $18.50/hr.  Kansas certified salary is negotiable depending on qualifications. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, 21 years of age by the time of hire, have High School diploma or GED, satisfy all the requirements set forth in K.S.A. 74-5605, and have or be able to obtain a Kansas drivers license. Applicants must pass a background investigation; written, oral, psychological, and physical agility tests, as well as a drug screen.

Police officers work rotating 12-hour shifts, to include nights and weekends.  This schedule includes a three-day weekend every other week.
