Smith County, Kansas Sheriff's Office has 3 immediate openings for the position of Sheriff's Deputy.

• Applicant must be 21 years of age or older.
• Have at least a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to pass a thorough background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Must be a Smith County resident or willing to relocate within 90 days of hire.
• Must possess a valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
• Must be able to work 12 hour shifts (Pitman Schedule), nights,  occasional holidays, and every other weekend.  
• Must be honest, trustworthy, have good moral character, and be a team player! 

Current CPOST Certification is preferred but not required - willing to train the right candidate.  Deputies are paid while attending Basic Training at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center.  

Starting pay depends on experience.
