The Marysville Police Department is seeking a highly motivated, community-oriented individual to join our department as a full-time law enforcement officer. We are an agency of 8 sworn full-time staff, with a strong community commitment, high integrity standards, updated equipment, excellent benefits, KPERS retirement and competitive pay based on experience and qualifications. We are internationally accredited as a CALEA agency and a task force agency with multiple partners, both state and federal.
Duties and responsibilities include enforcing all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances; taking calls for service; patrolling residential neighborhoods to deter and detect crime; investigating complaints; citing and/or arresting law violators; following up on pending reports and cases; protecting person(s) or property; and securing and protecting prisoners. When not responding to calls for service, department members are expected to smartly use their time by self-initiating on tasks identified as priorities at that time. We are proactive.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications include, high school or GED diploma, 21-years of age at time of appointment, no prohibiting criminal record, and able to pass: written aptitude test, polygraph, extensive background check, interview board, drug screen, physical, and psychological testing.
