The City of Holton, KS is accepting applications for a full time Police Officer. Chosen candidate should be self-motivated, community oriented, able to work with limited supervision and have the highest level of integrity and good moral character.

The City of Holton is the county seat for Jackson County, KS. with a population of over 3,300 residents. The city and surrounding area are home to 3 casinos, Holton’s Prairie Lake and Banner Creek Reservoir, offering plenty of opportunities and activities. Holton is a bustling city on the US Highway 75 corridor about 25 minutes from Topeka.

Qualifications for this position:

  • Must be 21 years of age and be a U.S. Citizen
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED, have a valid driver’s license
  • Be able to pass a background check, drug screen and psychological exam
  • No Giglio/Brady issues
  • No domestic violence related convictions
  • No felony or disqualifying misdemeanor convictions

KLETC certified or eligible for reciprocity preferred but not required for the right candidate.

Residency requirement: Must be willing to live or move within 30 minutes of the city of Holton.

For officers living within the city’s electric grid, roughly a 3-mile radius around the city, a take home car is available.
