The City of Rossville Kansas is a 3rd class city with a population of 1105, located approximately 17 miles west of Topeka on US 24 Highway in Shawnee County. Located at a crossroads between Interstate 70, Jackson County, Topeka, and Manhattan, we parallel the interstate and experience a large amount of traffic for a city our size.
We respond to an average of 1000 incidents a year with ample opportunity for additional self-directed criminal interdiction activity. We work cooperatively with all our surrounding law enforcement agencies and respond to calls in the northwest part of the county as needed. The City of Rossville contracts with the City of Willard to provide police services. We are staffed with a fulltime chief, part-time assistant chief, a fulltime police officer, fulltime administrative assistant, and 3 part-time police officers.

JOB DETAILS
- Four 10-hour shift days a week.
- Moderately flexible swing shift duty hours (combination 2nd and 3rd shift hours)
- Some weekend shifts required.
- Overtime, STEP hours, and comp time available.
- Active traffic enforcement, patrol, and criminal interdiction required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants must be KLETC full-time certified.
- Applicants must have no Brady or Giglio issues and satisfactory work history.
- Successful applicants must pass an in-depth post-offer background investigation.
- A psychological evaluation, drug screen, and physical may be required.
PAY
- Starting annual salary $52,000 to $65,000 (Depending on qualifications = $25 to $31.50 per hour to start)
