Morton County is seeking an Undersheriff to assist in administration of the department. This person will support the department goals and vision set by the Sheriff.
The current Sheriff was appointed by the governor to finish the current term following a vacancy of office earlier this year. The current Sheriff will not serve past this term. For the right candidate this is an opportunity to earn the confidence of the community and advance into an elected Sheriff career.

All sworn positions of the department, including Undersheriff, provide traditional uniformed patrol, traffic enforcement, accident response and investigation, civil and criminal proceedings, criminal investigation, and enforcement of federal, state, and local laws.
Morton County is a rural economy driven primarily by agriculture, with traditional rural/ag based community values. The candidate should have the ability to lead by genuine ethical and moral behaviors, while forming and maintaining positive interpersonal relationships within the community.
